It really sounds like you have the best kind of friend there is to have in him. It's what I like to call a friend you love. An ordinary friend you couldn't talk to or share with to this degree. You can both be completely open open with each other and that's rare to find. Because you're both rather young this may just stay this kind of friendship for your life time or down the road it could blossom into something much greater. Time alone will tell both of you this. For now be content with what you both have. Don't try to push it into something it isn't right now. Let nature take it's course.
