I like him, he likes me.? He has a girlfriend.. Help? /:?

There's this one guy at my school. We aren't exacty friends, but we flirt whenever and when I fall, he helps me up (( Ima klutz )) and when I blush he strokes my cheek and smiles. I've been crushing on him for a month at most, and all my friends (( who are all his friends and my ex who I broke up with, and he's still sensitive about it )) who like him say he's just a flirt and does that with everybody so I shouldn't get my hopes up. (( They're all year and/or two older than I am )) but the guys or the girls who don't like him say that's the way he acts when he falls for a girl hard (( has happened only once before, a year ago. But she got hit my a car or something like that, and he hasn't loved a girl like that ever since )). But he at the moment has a girlfriend, and I'm not the type to break up people because it isn't right. Though there are rumors going around that he wants to break up with her. He's a wonderful guy, and everyone likes him. He always smiles when I walk by, and has given me the "nod" to his really tight friends. Lol. Is that good? Should I just give up or give it a sort of shot?
