Flip flops versus heels ?

I think the wedge will be much better if you are outdoors because you won't have a heel that sinks into the ground every time you take a step. I ruined a good pair of stiletto heels at a friend's wedding because we were standing around in gravel part of the time and my heels sunk into the gravel and got scuffed and scratched up very badly. :(
