Returning a phone with damage?

I ordered my phone online at att.com and got the HTC Freestyle about two weeks ago. With me being a klutz i dropped it and the screen cracked. Since it is still under 30 days would i be able to return it to my local best buy or can you not return a phone with damage? PLEASE HELP!!!!!
