Japanese - what is iichatta?

i like to watch lots and lots of anime and somehow, i've started saying "iichatta" every time i tripped or stumble (i'm a klutz). it's a spontaneous reaction and I don't know what's the meaning of the word or where i heard. Does anyone know what it means? It's kinda annoying not knowing what yourself is saying.
